The present work aims to analyze what the life of a rape victim is like beyond the complaint, that is, the way in which she is constantly revictimized by the State and society. To develop the research, the bibliographic review method was used, through a careful study of legislation, books by the most renowned authors and jurisprudence. The topic is current and highly relevant, given that women routinely experience situations of sexual violence, especially the crime of rape. The conclusion reached is that women need emotional and often medicinal support to the detriment of the psychological damage that violence causes. However, revictimization and the scenario of being discredited lead many to not even report it, out of shame and also because they do not know how to deal with the situation. The topic, although present in everyday life, is considered taboo, causing criminal conduct to be normalized.Downloads
