Abstract
The increase in demand for aesthetic procedures in search of ideal beauty is growing more and more, a situation whereby individuals are dazzled by posts on social media and look for professionals to meet their respective expectations. However, it is known that “beautiful” has a subjective character, given that each individual has a perception of beauty, and there is no pre-defined standard. Therefore, the dental professional must establish a treatment plan together with the patient, based on listening to their expectations and, thus, arriving at a treatment plan that is possible for the patient, taking into account that Each subject is unique and the treatment, in this sense, is individualized. This work presents itself as a literature review, whose main objective is to highlight valuable measures for the aesthetic planning of the face, highlighting the importance of associating the parameters, principles and standards applied to Orofacial aesthetics, as well as the patient's personality. At this juncture, the aim is, therefore, to achieve a balance between Orofacial procedures and the patient's expectations.
