Physical therapy plays an essential role in post-surgical orthopedic recovery, especially for elderly patients with proximal femur fractures (PFF). This article explores the most effective physiotherapeutic interventions in this context, emphasizing the importance of muscle strengthening, particularly of the quadriceps, for restoring functionality and preventing complications. PFFs, often caused by falls and associated with osteoporosis, typically require surgical treatment, followed by a rehabilitation process that includes early mobilization, muscle strengthening, and balance training. Physical therapy is crucial for minimizing complications such as joint stiffness and deep vein thrombosis, as well as promoting the recovery of mobility and independence. Functional training and guidance on fall prevention are key components of the treatment, ensuring a better quality of life. It is concluded that physical therapy is indispensable for accelerating recovery and ensuring the functional reintegration of elderly patients after proximal femur fractures.
