O GEOTURISMO NO MUNICÍPIO DE AREIA-PB: RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA A PARTIR DAS PRÁTICAS EXTENSIONISTAS

Abstract

Geotechnologies have become relevant regarding the analytical process of a certain geographic space, such as the location of ecological routes and trails, communities and rural settlements, parks or forest reserves, etc. This report covers field research and teaching-learning praxis, developed from extensionist actions. The area of interest stands out for its natural beauties, with an emphasis on rugged topography and intrinsic geoforms of the landscape, highlighting waterfalls or waterfalls. In the perspective of territorial space analysis, the work had as its main purpose to work with georeferencing platforms that allowed the registration and updating of available cartographic information. Throughout the development of the planned stages and/or activities, during the seven consecutive months of execution, the work comprised eight distinct phases, in addition to the presentation of four thematic modules of interest. In conclusion, it can be highlighted the elaboration of ecotourism itineraries containing four waterfalls, gathering physical-environmental attractions of geodiversity and geoconservation. The generated products are decision-making tools for managers and other users, who will have a more systemic view of the mapped areas.
