This article, based on a review of the literature, first discusses the interests that led to the emergence of Professional Technological Education in Brazil, especially Integrated Secondary Education. It then theorizes the principles that should guide this type of education, before investigating gender relations in the context of EPT from the perspective of the sexual division of labor and the roles traditionally assigned to women. To understand this sexist process to which women were subjected, the reader is presented with a theory of the concept of gender and considerations regarding the feminist movement, in addition to the presentation of interventions in the school environment.
