Worker health is a strategic area of public health policy in Brazil, recognizing work as a social determinant of the health-disease process. In this context, nursing plays a central role in occupational health and safety (OHS) services, providing care, promoting health, preventing illness, and organizing care. The objective of this study is to report the experience of a nursing student during her mandatory internship at a large private company in the automotive sector. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, in the form of an experience report, based on the student's experiences from October 2025 to January 2026. The activities were carried out in the occupational clinic and in production areas, and were systematized through a field diary, participant observation, and critical reflection. The results showed that nursing was organized around three axes: direct employee care, health management and promotion, and the development of tools for standardizing care. Outstanding features included outpatient care, health promotion actions, interdisciplinary work, and the development of Standard Operating Protocols, which contributed to the standardization of conduct, the strengthening of care safety, evidence-based practice, and the ongoing education of the team. It was concluded that the internship provided expanded and critical training, strengthening technical, managerial, and relational skills, in addition to highlighting the importance of university-service integration for the qualification of Occupational Nursing and the promotion of safer and healthier work environments.
