out as one of the main productive activities, especially for integrating the items most demanded by institutional food markets. Among these crops, cucumber is relevant for favoring the diversification of production and strengthening income generation on family farms. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the challenges and potential of cucumber production within family farming, in a production unit located in the municipality of Paragominas (PA), as well as to describe the perceived economic potential and the main productive constraints that influence the performance of the activity. The study was conducted through immersion in a family farm, using participatory methodologies such as semi-structured interviews, informal conversations, cross-sectional walks, and application of the SWOT matrix. The approach adopted was qualitative in nature, allowing for an in-depth understanding of the productive reality. The results showed that, despite the weaknesses related to the lack of technical assistance and difficulties in resource management, cucumber production presents high economic viability. Marketing in local markets, combined with the adoption of appropriate management practices, reinforces the importance of this crop for the sustainability and strengthening of family farming.
