CARACTERÍSTICAS E SUAS CONSEQUÊNCIAS

O presente artigo aborda a violência doméstica praticada contra a mulher, principais características e consequências resultantes de tal prática, bem como faz uma breve análise acerca da Lei de nº 11340, também conhecida como a Lei Maria da Penha, na qual tem como principal objetivo coibir e prevenir a violência doméstica e familiar contra a mulher. Sabe-se que por muitos anos a mulher foi submissa ao homem, sendo vítima de discriminação, desprezo e humilhações. Contudo, no decorrer dos anos, a mulher vem adquirindo o seu espaço na sociedade na qual passou a lutar por direitos e garantias de igualdade. Com relação a parte legislativa que fundamenta os direitos da mulher, pode-se citar como exemplo a Constituição Federal que assegura com ênfase o princípio da igualdade de homens e mulheres, impondo ao estado a aplicabilidade e criação de medidas com a finalidade de reprimir a violência. Ademais, ressalta-se a importância da Lei Maria da Penha, que veio com a principal finalidade de garantir proteção àquela parte da população considerada mais frágil no que tange a violência doméstica.
