Abstract

Avós criando netos estão cada vez mais frequente, trata-se da nova estrutura familiar onde avós se veem na responsabilidade mantendo o bem estar das crianças como meio de proteção dos mesmos. Este artigo foi baseado em pesquisas dessa nova forma familiar, a partir deste estudo buscamos compreender principais motivos que levaram a essa estrutura e quais as consequências de tal ação. O estudo nos mostrou que avós que criam os netos substituíram os pais por vários motivos dentre os quais estão, morte dos pais, pais viciados em drogas, risco social da criança, marginalidade, doenças, pais negligentes, doença mentais entre outros.
