Dental ankylosis is a condition in which a tooth fuses to the alveolar bone, losing the ability for normal movement. It typically results from injuries during tooth formation, leading to improper union. In deciduous teeth, also known as 'baby teeth,' ankylosis is less common compared to permanent teeth. However, this early fusion can cause problems in occlusion development and the proper eruption of permanent teeth, necessitating pediatric dental monitoring for early diagnosis and intervention when necessary. Therefore, the purpose of this scientific article is to discuss dental ankylosis in deciduous teeth, aiming to analyze the most suitable and effective treatments for the respective condition. It is crucial to present the definition and classification of dental ankylosis, describe etiological factors, outline clinical and radiographic diagnosis, and address its consequences. The choice of this topic is justified by the importance of providing theoretical and practical knowledge to dental professionals, aiming to enhance the clinical approach to this specific condition and provide a solid foundation for evidence-based therapeutic decision-making. Regarding the methodology, the study is a qualitative research based on the descriptive approach method, as well as proposing an integrative literature review.
