Abstract

Diante do apelo estético vinculado a uma melhora de autoestima e vínculo social, que envolve os tratamentos odontológicos, o uso de facetas está sendo muito requisitado e muitas dúvidas surgem a cerca desse tema. Este procedimento, é entregue por meio dos preparos minimamente invasivos. A presente revisão de literatura traz consigo, os diversos fatores que podem influenciar para o sucesso das facetas em resina composta, evidenciando as suas indicações, limitações e fatores de sucesso principais. Por meio da busca nas bases de dados descritas, Google Acadêmico, PubMed e Scielo e BVS, a revisão de literatura, mostrou que a facetas em resina composta, são excelentes alternativas reabilitadoras, para os casos de dentes escurecidos e/ou singelamente mal posicionados no arco dentário. Além de possuírem um menor custo comparado às facetas indiretas de porcelana. Demandam menores desgastes da estrutura dentária, preservando maior quantidade de tecido mineral dentário saudável, além de apresentar uma excelente longevidade. Contudo para isso as resinas compostas nanoparticuladas são indicadas, e as consultas de manutenção são também necessárias, para garantir um polimento com a remoção das irregularidades superficiais, capazes de gerar acúmulo de biofilme e falha da faceta em resina composta, elevando assim, a sua longevidade.
