SITUATIONAL DIAGNOSIS OF HEALTH CONDITIONS IN A FAMILY HEALTH UNIT IN THE WESTERN REGION OF PARANÁ

This study presents a situational diagnosis conducted with a Family Health team from a Family Health Unit located in the western region of Paraná, aiming to analyze its socio-environmental, demographic, and epidemiological characteristics in order to support the planning and organization of actions within Primary Health Care. This is a mixed-methods research (qualitative-quantitative), developed through interviews with key informants, field observations, and analysis of secondary data from official systems of the Unified Health System (SUS). Based on the information collected, institutional, territorial-environmental, demographic, socioeconomic, and epidemiological profiles of the territory were developed. The results highlighted positive aspects, such as the Unit's operation during extended hours, team organization, and the population's access to essential services. However, relevant challenges were also identified, including the existence of uncovered micro-areas, environmental conditions that require attention, and significant prevalences of chronic and infectious diseases. It was observed that the population served is predominantly young, with low education levels and dependence on public health services, which reinforces the importance of strategies that promote equity in care. It is concluded that the situational diagnosis constitutes an essential tool for territorial planning and for the qualification of health practices, by enabling a critical and sensitive reading of the local reality, strengthening the bond between the team and the community.
