REFORMA AGRÁRIA NA ARGENTINA:
REALIDADE OU UTOPIA?

A Reforma Agrária ganhou amplo espaço para o debate na América Latina durante as décadas de 1960-1970. Basicamente em todos os países que compõem esse continente, houve algum movimento no sentido de se debater o tema e fomentar sua implementação. Mas na República Argentina isso não ocorreu. Por quais razões a reforma agrária não foi realizada no passado e nem faz parte da agenda política atual da Argentina? O presente artigo tenta responder a essa pergunta, sem esgotar o tema, trazendo para reflexão que esse assunto está envolto em vários fatores que impedem e impediram esse debate ao longo dos anos. Para tanto, o presente estudo faz a cronologia, de forma rápida, da formação do Estado argentino e de como se deu a criação da propriedade e dos grandes latifúndios naquele país. Também demonstra que o tema reforma agrária e função social da propriedade, não é mencionado e nunca o foi em nenhuma Constituição da República argentina, à exceção da Carta Magna do primeiro governo de Juan Perón (1949) que logo foi revogada com a Revolução Libertadora de 1955. Por fim, termina o referido artigo a trazer como reflexão se a reforma agrária poderá algum dia ser desenvolvida na Argentina.
