Abstract

O presente estudo discorre sobre a prevenção de acidentes com materiais perfurocortantes em profissionais da equipe de enfermagem no ambiente hospitalar. Estes acidentes envolvendo esse tipo de material podem trazer consequências desastrosas para o profissional de enfermagem, podendo comprometer significativamente sua saúde, seu estado emocional e sua qualidade de vida, sendo assim, necessário aprofundar estudos que visem subsidiar medidas de prevenção baseadas em acidentes com materiais perfurocortantes para a preservação da saúde dos profissionais de enfermagem. Esse estudo tem como objetivo mostrar as principais medidas de prevenção para redução de acidentes provocados por perfurocortantes em profissionais da equipe de enfermagem no ambiente hospitalar. A metodologia adotada para esse trabalho temo caráter qualitativo e baseia-se de um estudo bibliográfico, construído a partir das considerações de alguns autores, que discorreram sobre a temática. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que os acidentes com perfurocortantes são passíveis de acontecer, contudo, o amplo conhecimento e a adoção de condutas preventivas de segurança podem reduzir significativamente sua ocorrência no ambiente hospitalar.
