MENTAL HEALTH MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY OF WORK LIFE IN HOSPITAL ENVIRONMENTS: a bibliographic study

This study focuses on analyzing the relationship between hospital management and the mental
health of healthcare professionals, also considering quality of life in the workplace context. Working
in hospital settings is often associated with high levels of stress, constant pressure, and physical and
emotional exhaustion. Given this scenario, it becomes essential to reflect on how management
practices can positively or negatively influence the well-being of these workers. The study, which is
qualitative in nature, is based on a literature review and aims to understand the main organizational
factors that affect mental health at work. It also seeks to identify management strategies that
promote healthier and more humane work environments. The results indicate that management
models centered on human appreciation and active listening significantly contribute to improving
working conditions and preventing psychological illnesses. It is concluded that promoting mental
health in hospital institutions requires managers’ commitment to institutional policies focused on
comprehensive care for the worker.
