The present study investigates the characteristics and applications of Aloe vera, a plant widely recognized for its medicinal and cosmetic properties. The research is based on a comprehensive bibliographic review, which includes the analysis of academic studies, scientific articles and specialized sources. Explores in detail the phytochemical characteristics of Aloe vera, identifying the main compounds present in the plant's gel, such as polysaccharides, anthraquinones, and vitamins. These components are analyzed for their therapeutic properties, including anti-inflammatory, healing, antimicrobial, and antioxidant effects. It also examines the traditional use of Aloe vera in different cultures, comparing historical practices with modern uses based on scientific evidence. This analysis reveals the continuity and evolution of the plant's applications over time, highlighting how recent discoveries corroborate and expand traditional knowledge, and highlights the importance of Aloe vera in medicine and cosmetology, underlining its value as a versatile medicinal plant.
