Resumen

Ao longo da história, o ser humano sempre buscou conhecer e dominar seu espaço geográfico, explorando ao máximo seus recursos. Na construção civil, essa necessidade se intensifica, e o georreferenciamento desempenha um papel essencial. Ele abrange o uso de ferramentas e tecnologias voltadas à coleta, tratamento, manipulação e análise de informações espaciais. Com o avanço de técnicas matemáticas, computacionais e softwares especializados, a engenharia tornou-se mais dinâmica, especialmente em áreas como cartografia, análise de recursos naturais, agricultura, transporte, engenharia de tráfego, além do gerenciamento e planejamento urbano. Este trabalho é uma revisão literária de publicações recentes sobre o georreferenciamento e suas diversas aplicações na engenharia em geral, destacando suas vantagens, desafios e a realidade enfrentada pela Engenharia Civil.
