This article addresses the importance of the Reading Corner for the development of reading competence in the early years of Elementary Education. The study aimed to analyze how this pedagogical space contributes to the formation of critical, autonomous, and creative readers, fostering an appreciation for reading from the beginning of literacy education. The research was conducted in two public schools in the municipality of Linhares (ES, Brazil), adopting a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory approach, through semi-structured interviews with teachers of the 1st and 4th grades of Elementary Education. The data analysis revealed that the Reading Corner is widely used in pedagogical practices and plays an essential role in enriching students’ vocabulary, improving writing skills, and developing reading competence among children. It is concluded that the presence of such an environment promotes the integral development of students, turning reading into a meaningful, enjoyable, and transformative experience.
