O trabalho "Diabetes Mellitus Gestacional: Riscos, Diagnóstico e Gestão Durante a Gravidez na UBS" analisa a situação da diabetes gestacional (DG), uma enfermidade metabólica que atinge mulheres grávidas e pode resultar em complicações graves para a mãe e o feto, tais como pré-eclâmpsia e macrossomia fetal. A pesquisa analisa os principais fatores de risco para o Diabetes Gestacional, tais como obesidade, idade materna avançada e histórico familiar de diabetes. Além disso, aborda métodos de diagnóstico, destacando o teste oral de tolerância à glicose (TOTG) para identificação antecipada.
A gestão do Diabetes Gestacional nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS) é examinada sob uma perspectiva multidisciplinar, que inclui a supervisão de vários profissionais de saúde, incluindo obstetras, endocrinologistas e nutricionistas. A abordagem envolveu pesquisas e análise de estudos para avaliar a efetividade do diagnóstico e do tratamento na Unidade Básica de Saúde, com o objetivo de garantir uma gestação saudável. O trabalho enfatiza a relevância de estratégias unificadas na administração da DG e a demanda por protocolos mais eficientes no cuidado com as gestantes, trazendo dessa forma os perigos tanto para a mãe quanto para o feto.
