Abstract

Introdução: No passado pessoas portadoras de perturbações mentais graves eram institucionalizadas e sofriam por longos períodos de internação em manicômios, no início da década de 90, percebeu-se a necessidade de reformar as práticas nessa área e desde então têm-se a preocupação com o cidade mais humanizado e integrativo destes pacientes. Pergunta problema: Qual é o papel do profissional de enfermagem atuante no CAPs (Centro de Atenção Psicossocial)? Objetivo: Elucidar as ações inerentes ao enfermeiro dentro do CAPs. Metodologia: Por meio da análise e estudo de literaturas, ficou compreendido o trabalho de enfermagem vai além dos cuidados médicos, perpassando por uma gama de ações que visem o cuidado integral, em âmbitos como vida social e diária, com intuito de gerar qualidade de vida para os usuários do CAPs. Conclusão: Conclui-se que o trabalho de enfermagem é importante no processo de qualidade de vida, pois representa suporte e apoio tanto para os mesmos como para suas famílias.
