Abstract
Microcephaly is a congenital anomaly characterized by a reduction in head circumference during pregnancy, accompanied by changes in the central nervous system. The unexpected increase in births with this condition occurred after the appearance of the Zika virus was recorded. The objective of this study was to demonstrate, through a bibliographic review, the fundamental results of physiotherapeutic treatment in infants with Congenital Zika Virus Syndrome (SCZV), in addition to analyzing the relevance of early intervention in children with ZIKV-derived microcephaly. . The research was of a qualitative nature, for explanatory purposes, through a bibliographic review, which had as integration criteria the availability of the complete file, articles in Portuguese and English, published between the period 2013 to 2023. In infants and children with this disorder, early stimulation should be started immediately after diagnosis to improve progress, prevent or minimize sequelae and deformities. In conclusion, the importance of early stimulation by physiotherapists in babies with microcephaly affected by Zika is evident, helping to improve the lives of patients.
