The study investigated the relationship between the use of paracetamol during pregnancy and potential impacts such as autism and immunological dysfunctions in the child. Evidence suggests a correlation between prenatal exposure to paracetamol and an increased risk of autism and neuropsychiatric disorders. Additionally, there are indications of a negative influence of paracetamol on the child's immune system. The research was conducted using sources from SCIELO and LILACS with a temporal scope between 2013 and 2023. The complexity of these relationships underscores the need for caution in paracetamol use during pregnancy, emphasizing the importance of ongoing research to clarify risks and provide clear guidance to pregnant individuals and healthcare professionals. This study offers an objective approach to the consequences of inappropriate paracetamol use during pregnancy, promoting awareness and careful medication use, with a preference for alternatives and minimizing exposure whenever possible.
