O câncer é uma doença crônica degenerativa, que desencadeia o crescimento anormal e desordenado das células de forma incontrolável. Considerado um problema de saúde pública, devido à elevada incidência, prevalência e mortalidade. Nesse sentido, aponta-se como questão do estudo: devido às fragilidades dos pacientes oncológicos durante o tratamento hospitalar, de que forma está sendo realizada a assistência de enfermagem humanizada ao paciente oncológico na área hospitalar. Devido ao alto número de pessoas portadoras de câncer nos dias atuais, justifica-se a relevância do tema assistência de enfermagem humanizada ao paciente oncológico hospitalizado a fim de proporcionar uma assistência humanizada, buscando amenizar o sofrimento do paciente. O estudo tem como objetivo geral: Demonstrar a importância da assistência de enfermagem humanizada ao paciente oncológico hospitalizado. Trata-se de um estudo de revisão de literatura, que discutiu a assistência humanizada do enfermeiro ao paciente hospitalizado com câncer. O estudo foi realizado no período de março a maio de 2018. Possibilitou a compreensão de que o câncer envolve todo o grupo familiar no processo de recuperação, tratamento e na cura do doente, devido às dificuldades de adaptação, o convívio com sequelas, o medo do retorno da doença, por isso a importância de oferecer uma assistência multidisciplinar de forma integral, auxiliando as famílias neste período crítico de suas vidas, através de estratégias de cuidado promovendo a sua sobrevivência com qualidade. É necessário que a equipe de enfermagem esteja capacitada para atuar de forma acolhedora, possibilitando uma assistência humanizada ao paciente oncológico.
