PROPOSTA DE ATIVIDADE POR MEIO DA ETNOMATEMATICA
UM ESTUDO SOBRE O AÇAI EM ABAETETUBA

This article aims to understand and reflect on a topic that can be articulated with various areas of knowledge in Basic Education, which is açaí. This is a study that involves data collection through interviews and is based on a qualitative approach. Therefore, 2 interviews were conducted in the city of Abaetetuba with people who live directly with açaí. From there, we propose 6 mathematical activities using the context of açaí acquired in the interview for teaching Arithmetic, Geometry, Size, and Matrix in Basic Education, allowing the teacher to move away from the traditional teaching model. We use Ethnomathematics as a theoretical basis to understand how Mathematics is inserted in the culture of açaí production. We highlight the importance of articulating mathematical knowledge with other areas of knowledge, such as Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, History, Geography, and Sociology, through the dynamics that surround the cultivation, production, management, and sale of açaí.
