O envolvimento do pai nos cuidados pré-natais gera benefícios para a saúde das mães e das crianças. Embora essas informações possam ajudar os profissionais a melhorar a saúde da família, o baixo envolvimento paterno no pré-natal continua sendo um desafio. Os resultados sugerem que as mudanças no ambiente de trabalho podem sinalizar normas de paternidade para homens em ambientes pré-natais, com intenções de comportamento mais saudáveis a jusante. Essa percepção predisse maior confiança dos pais, conforto e intenções comportamentais para aprender sobre a gravidez e adotar hábitos saudáveis, como evitar o fumo e o álcool durante a gravidez do parceiro.
