Este artigo discorre sobre o crescimento pentecostal no Brasil, analisado pelos principais teóricos que pensaram esse movimento a partir de contextos rurais e urbanos. O objetivo é mostrar como essas igrejas por meio de seu discurso religioso proporciona sentido a vida das pessoas. Para este estudo utiliza-se de leituras bibliográficas de autores que contribuíram para os estudos de religião no Brasil.
