AVALIAÇÃO DO ÍNDICE DE COLETA E DE TRATAMENTO DE ESGOTO DO MUNICÍPIO DE TEÓFILO OTONI, MINAS GERAIS, NOS ANOS DE 2013 E 2014

A coleta e tratamento do esgoto sanitário são importantes tanto para o meio ambiente quanto para a população, porém quando não tratado pode provocar impactos negativos em ambos. O presente estudo objetivou analisar os dados do Sistema Nacional De Informações Sobre Saneamento – SNIS, referentes ao índice de coleta e tratamento do esgoto de Teófilo Otoni, nos anos de 2013 e 2014, realizados pela COPASA. A primeira fase da pesquisa se constituiu de um levantamento bibliográfico a respeito do tema e a segunda se compôs da coleta de dados como índice de coleta de esgoto e tratamento do esgoto do município de Teófilo Otoni. Os dados da coleta e tratamento do esgoto mostraram que não houve aumento significativo na coleta do esgoto e houve um aumento considerável no tratamento do esgoto, visto que quase 90% do esgoto coletado pela COPASA no município de Teófilo Otoni é tratado. Apesar dos valores apresentados serem relevantes, é importante ressaltar que o ideal é que todo esgoto coletado seja tratado, pois quando não tratado gera impacto negativo para o meio ambiente e para a população.
