ADEQUAÇÃO VIÁRIA DA INTERSEÇÃO DA BR-116 COM A BR-418

As rodovias que cortam aglomerados urbanos são importantes para o seu desenvolvimento econômico, entretanto, nestas cidades, raramente isso ocorre com planejamento urbanístico adequado. Estas áreas geralmente resultam em trechos rodoviários de alto risco para todos que por ali circulam. Este artigo consiste em um estudo de caso, no qual serão analisados os conflitos da interseção entre a BR-116 com a BR-418, trecho localizado na área urbana da cidade de Teófilo Otoni – MG. Será proposto um projeto com soluções que minimizarão os problemas causados pelo intenso fluxo de veículos locais e flutuantes. Além disso, o presente trabalho faz referência à mobilidade urbana que por vez é prejudicada pela enorme quantidade de polos geradores de tráfego, edificados no em torno da interseção analisada. Será considerado também o grau de dificuldade enfrentado pelos pedestres ao circular por este trecho, uma vez que esta interseção é margeada por diversos bairros da cidade. Já o contexto histórico será abordado, para que se entenda a evolução do problema relacionando-o às características das vias e à sua importância para o desenvolvimento desta região.
