This study analyzes the sustainability levels of three family farming properties in the municipality of Renascença, Paraná, through the application of the IDEA method (Indicators of Farm Sustainability). The research is grounded in the need to assess, in an integrated manner, the agro-environmental, socio-territorial, and economic dimensions to promote sustainable rural development. The methodology adopted a qualitative and descriptive approach, applying the IDEA method through interviews conducted on three rural properties between October 10 and 15, 2025. This tool evaluates sustainability using 41 indicators distributed across three scales: agro-environmental (19 indicators), socio-territorial (16), and economic (6), assigning scores from 0 to 100 for each. The results revealed significant differences among the properties. Property 1 achieved the best overall balance, with an average score of 62.03%, standing out for its productive diversity and environmentally responsible practices. Property 3 showed excellent economic performance (92.86%) but notable environmental weaknesses (48.46%). Property 2 presented the lowest averages (52.13%), evidencing weaknesses across all dimensions. In conclusion, the IDEA method proved effective in identifying strengths and specific areas for improvement. While Property 1 represents a more balanced model, the other cases highlight the need for differentiated interventions to strengthen their weaker dimensions, demonstrating that sustainability in family farming requires a multidimensional and contextualized approach.
