.Abstract
Os fatos históricos que normalmente são referido com maior importância, são aqueles que guardam estreita proximidade com a classe dominante à época. É praxe que as narrativas busquem um só lado, até mesmo para que se evitem confrontos ideológicos que possam causar melindres. Existem versões diferentes para um mesmo fato e/ou existem fatos que muitas vezes são ignorados ou suprimidos em função do interesse e das crenças de quem os contam. Já dizia meu grande mestre Oillian José “que a história permite e devem ser revisitada e estudada, pois sempre haverá possibilidade de se conhecer detalhes que ficaram obscuros ou que não correspondam à verdade”. Assim, a proposta do presente artigo é analisar com uma visão crítica fatos acontecidos na época da colonização da região e as situações conflituosas entre os indígenas, os colonizadores e os padres capuchinhos.
