IMPLICATIONS OF WORLD BANK-FUNDED PROJECTS IN THE HEALTH SECTOR IN NAMPULA PROVINCE

The article's theme is the Implications of World Bank-Funded Projects in the Health Sector in Nampula Province. Its general objective was to analyze the implications of World Bank-funded projects in the health sector in Nampula Province; and its specific objectives were: to identify the implications of World Bank projects in the health sector; to describe the projects funded by the World Bank in the health sector; and to characterize the areas of the health sector eligible for World Bank funding in Nampula. The research questions were: What are the implications of World Bank projects in the health sector? What do the projects funded by the World Bank in the health sector consist of? What are the characteristics of the areas of the health sector eligible for World Bank funding in Nampula? The methodology was based on the interpretative paradigm, a qualitative approach, descriptive research, an inductive method, a case study, study participants, data collection techniques and instruments (semi-structured interviews and document analysis), and forms of data presentation and analysis and discussion of results, content analysis. The results made it clear that the implications of the World Bank-funded projects in the health sector in the province of Nampula are positive, as they guarantee: the strengthening of health systems; the equitable reinforcement of coverage, access and quality of primary care; the capacity building of the Ministry of Health (MISAU) in terms of technicians in various areas; and the provision of school education for girls.
