O LIVRO DIDÁTICO:
SUA IMPORTÂNCIA PARA A EDUCAÇÃO

O presente artigo traz o estudo da importância do uso do livro didático em sala de aula. É brevemente explicado um pouco do contexto histórico do livro didático na educação brasileira. O livro didático também é estudado neste texto como ferramenta pedagógica importante para a formação de leitores. O artigo se divide em cinco capítulos breves onde cada um deverá tratar de um tema específico, como a história, escolha, distribuição e importância do livro didático nas escolas. Até o fim do artigo, é compreendido o valor do livro didático para o trabalho pedagógico eficaz, sendo apontado como ferramenta norteadora básica para o trabalho docente. Também fica explícita a importância do mesmo como única fonte literária para alunos provenientes de famílias fragilizadas. O artigo conclui que o livro didático é uma ferramenta social e democrática importante para a educação.
