RECIFES DE CORAIS E OS IMPACTOS DA AÇÃO ANTROPOGÊNICA

Recifes de corais são ecossistemas que abrigam inúmeros organismos vivos e a manutenção dessas estruturas é extremamente relevante do ponto de vista ambiental, social e econômico. Abrolhos é o maior recife de coral do Brasil e é responsável direta e indiretamente pela economia da população costeira que envolve a região sul da Bahia e norte do Espírito Santo. Para boa conservação desse ecossistema foi criado o Parque Nacional Marinho de Abrolhos, que visa a exploração consciente da região, principalmente do turismo. As mudanças climáticas afetam a saúde dos recifes. O aumento da temperatura do oceano causa branqueamento do coral que, se prolongado, causa morte do Recife. A atividade antropogênica é a principal causa de degradação dos Recifes de Corais.
