MEDICAMENTOS ANTIRRETROVIRAIS NO TRATAMENTO DO HIV

Os fármacos antirretrovirais foram criados durante a década de 1980, com o propósito de evitar a propagação do vírus no organismo. Eles não são capazes de erradicar o HIV, vírus que provoca a AIDS, porém contribuem para evitar com que o sistema imunológico seja enfraquecido. Em razão disso, sua utilização é essencial para aumentar o tempo e a qualidade de vida de quem é portador da doença. Diante disso, o presente artigo científico busca discorrer sobre os medicamentos antirretrovirais no tratamento do HIV, com o propósito de analisar como esses fármacos atuam inibindo a replicação viral e a infecção de novas células pela respectiva condição. Para alcançar esse objetivo proposto fez-se necessário definir os objetivos específicos: a) Identificar quais são os antirretrovirais e como atuariam no paciente portador de HIV; b) Descrever seus mecanismos de ação no combate ao HIV; e c) Analisar o acompanhamento farmacêutico junto ao paciente no uso dos medicamentos antirretrovirais. Com relação à metodologia, para responder ao problema, optou-se por uma pesquisa qualitativa, quanto aos fins será descritiva e quanto aos meios bibliográfica e documental.
