HIPOMINERALIZAÇÃO MOLAR INCISIVO E SEUS REFLEXOS NA SAÚDE BUCAL

A Hipomineralização Molar Incisivo (HMI) é uma alteração que afeta a qualidade do esmalte do dente, que envolve de um a quatro primeiros molares permanentes associada aos incisivos permanentes. A sua condição causa opacidades na superfície do esmalte, desprendimento da camada afetada e, com isso, exposição da dentina tornando o ambiente mais propenso ao acometimento de lesões de cárie, hipersensibilidade, menor resistência dos sistemas de adesão em restauração, incluindo ainda impacto na estética e qualidade de vida do paciente. O trabalho objetivou revisar na literatura os principais fatores relacionados ao surgimento de Hipomineralização em molares e incisivos (HMI), sua incidência com base nas características e fatores etiológicos relacionados, identificando ainda os protocolos de tratamento e as consequências da HMI na saúde bucal. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa e seleção de publicações compreendidas entre janeiro de 2010 e dezembro de 2022, disponibilizados nas bases de dados Scielo, PuMed e RevOdonto. O profissional ao possui efetiva compreensão acerca do caso clínico e os procedimentos a serem aplicados pode realizar uma identificação antecipada do caso, evitando a erupção do local afetado, adotando medidas de prevenção que visem preservar o material dentário.
