ENFRENTAMENTO DA VIOLÊNCIA SEXUAL CONTRA CRIANÇAS E ADOLESCENTES

De acordo com os últimos dados do sistema de Vigilância de Violências e Acidades (Viva) do Ministério da Saúde, ao abuso sexual é apontado como a segunda violência mais cometida na faixa etária de 0 a 9 anos, ficando pouco atrás apenas para as notificações de negligência e abandono. Segundo dados da Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT), ocorrem no Brasil, por ano, cerca de 100 mil casos de abuso e exploração sexual de crianças e adolescentes. Mas menos de 20% desses casos chegam ao conhecimento das pessoas encarregadas de tomar providências. No presente artigo vou discorrer sobre dois problemas graves enfrentados por muitas crianças e adolescentes: a exploração sexual e o abuso sexual, e os desafios junto à rede de atenção e de proteção à infância e à adolescência no combate a estes tipos de violações. Além de buscar conceituar e caracterizar esta cruel forma de violência, refletiremos sobre as políticas de enfrentamento, responsabilização dos exploradores e prevenção, sendo estes os principais desafios no combate a exploração sexual comercial de crianças e adolescentes.
