AVALIAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO DE DISCENTES DO CURSO DE ODONTOLOGIA SOBRE REAÇÕES SISTÊMICAS DE TOXICIDADE NO USO DA ANESTESIA LOCAL

Objetivo: Avaliar o conhecimento de discentes do curso de Odontologia sobre reações sistêmicas de toxicidade no uso de anestésicos locais. Metodologia: O estudo é do tipo descritivo transversal, com abordagem quanti-qualitativa. A amostra foi constituída por 76 discentes do 4° ao 10° períodos vinculados ao curso de Odontologia da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande. O questionário ocorreu virtualmente, via (Google forms), pois foram encaminhados aos acadêmicos por e-mail. Resultados: O sexo feminino teve maior porcentagem de acertos. A porcentagem de erros e acertos deu-se semelhante entre os indivíduos autodeclarados capacitados e os não capacitados para fazer a escolha do AL. A porcentagem de acertos foi maior no grupo de alunos que entende a carga horária da disciplina de Terapêutica e Anestesiologia como sendo adequada. O 8ºP teve a maior porcentagem de acertos e o 6ºP teve a menor. Em relação à comparação dos períodos iniciais e finais (4ºP, 8ºP-10ºP) com os períodos intermediários (5ºP ao 7ºP), o grupo de iniciais e finais teve maior porcentagem de acertos. Conclusão: Os discentes, em sua maioria, não se sentem seguros para a escolha do anestésico local, porém, segundo o estudo, eles detêm um moderado conhecimento sobre o uso dos AL e suas possíveis reações sistêmicas de toxicidade. Um estudo mais aprofundado sobre esse tema durante a graduação nas disciplinas teóricas e práticas é medida que pode culminar em graduandos mais bem preparados no curso de Odontologia da UFCG.
