LA IMPORTANCIA DEL DIAGNÓSTICO PRECOZ DE LAS ENFERMEDADES INMUNOMEDIADAS Y AUTOINMUNES QUE AFECTAN A LA CAVIDAD BUCAL

El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la importancia del papel de los cirujanos dentistas en el diagnóstico precoz de las enfermedades inmunomediadas y autoinmunes con repercusión en la cavidad oral. Se trata de una revisión bibliográfica narrativa con un enfoque documental y observacional. Las bases de datos utilizadas para la búsqueda bibliográfica fueron PubMED, SCIELO, LILACS y Google Scholar. Las palabras clave utilizadas fueron "enfermedades autoinmunes", "atención odontológica", "manifestaciones orales" y "diagnóstico". Este método de navegación garantizó la identificación de todas las palabras que contenían estos fragmentos, facilitando la selección y elección de las publicaciones que cumplían los criterios de inclusión del estudio para su posterior análisis. Esta investigación incluyó artículos completos, revisiones bibliográficas y estudios epidemiológicos. No se incluyeron trabajos de finalización de curso, disertaciones, resúmenes o tesis. La identificación de enfermedades mediadas inmunológicamente y autoinmunes en una fase temprana demuestra la importancia de que los cirujanos dentistas las traten de antemano, así como de minimizar la progresión y los síntomas de ciertas enfermedades mediante la intervención farmacológica y evitar así el desarrollo de patologías oportunistas. Por lo tanto, los cirujanos dentistas deben ser plenamente conscientes de los signos y síntomas clínicos que pueden presentar las enfermedades autoinmunes en la cavidad oral, y ser capaces de llevar a cabo un diagnóstico precoz y un correcto tratamiento multidisciplinar de los pacientes con estas afecciones.
