Obstetric violence is a series of acts of violence against women that take place before, during or after childbirth. During childbirth, women are subjected to vexatious and deeply humiliating situations, which often prevent them from seeking redress.
Anyone who thinks that obstetric violence is only a de facto action is mistaken. Emotional and psychological violence also fall under this concept, and leave marks as deep as a cut on the skin of the women who suffer this type of violence
