ESTRATÉGIAS TERAPÊUTICAS NO MANEJO CLÍNICO DA ESQUIZOFRENIA REFRATÁRIA

A esquizofrenia é um dos transtornos psiquiátricos mais prevalentes no mundo todo. Afeta aproximadamente 1% da população mundial, na qual é responsável por 25% das internações psiquiátricas. O seu curso clínico é heterogêneo, com cerca de 20% a 30% dos pacientes apresentados apresentando algum tipo de recuperação completa, sendo 30% em remissão com perda parcial de funcionalidade e 30% com deterioração significativa e persistente nas esferas profissional, social e emocional. A esquizofrenia refratária ou conhecida popularmente como esquizofrenia resistente, acomete cerca de 30% dos pacientes diagnosticados e é caracterizada pela persistência de sintomas positivos, tais como alucinações e delírios. Nesses casos, a clozapina é o antipsicótico de escolha. A pesquisa busca aprofundar detalhadamente o entendimento sobre os impactos da esquizofrenia refratária e a eficácia dos tratamentos disponíveis, além de outras alternativas disponíveis, oferecendo subsídios para estratégias terapêuticas eficazes.
