INFLUÊNCIA DA PERSONALIDADE E HIGIENE DO SONO NA INSÔNIA

A insônia é um distúrbio do sono de alta prevalência, estando associada a transtornos de humor e prejuízo cognitivo. A susceptibilidade em desenvolver a insônia pode estar relacionada a traços de personalidade e o neuroticismo parece estar implicado no desenvolvimento desse distúrbio. Objetivo: investigar a influência do traço de personalidade neuroticismo na relação entre higiene do sono e insônia em estudantes universitários do Brasil. Método: estudo individuado, observacional, de corte transversal. Utilizou-se um questionário eletrônico, autoaplicável, na plataforma Microsoft Forms. Foram abordados aspectos sociodemográficos, prevalência de sintomas ansiosos e depressivos, traços de personalidade, qualidade de sono e insônia. Foram incluídos estudantes universitários brasileiros ou que residem no Brasil, com no mínimo 18 anos e com acesso a dispositivos digitais. Resultados: Foram coletadas 456 respostas ao questionário, com maior parte do sexo feminino (84,8%), da graduação (79.2%), da área da saúde (46.8%) e já finalizando o curso (mais de 75% concluído). Encontrou-se correlação entre a variável dependente insônia e as variáveis independentes ansiedade, depressão e estresse. Observou-se também associação de insônia com o traço de personalidade desprendimento, marcado por evitamento de interações interpessoais, anedonia e experiências de afeto limitadas. A insônia também esteve associada com alguns hábitos de higiene do sono. Conclusão: A redução da qualidade do sono mostrou-se associada à alteração da saúde mental e maus hábitos de higiene do sono. O estudo não encontrou associação direta entre níveis aumentados de neuroticismo e pior experiência subjetiva do sono. Fazem-se necessários estudos adicionais em uma amostra com maior diversidade sociodemográfica.
