PERFIL EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DE LOS CASOS DE TOS FERINA EN EL ESTADO DE PARANÁ DURANTE EL PERÍODO 2020–2024

La tos ferina, conocida también como tos convulsiva, es una infección respiratoria causada por la bacteria Bordetella pertussis. Esta enfermedad se caracteriza por una tos intensa y paroxística, acompañada de malestar general. Es una enfermedad de notificación obligatoria y afecta principalmente a los grupos etarios no vacunados, como los lactantes, en quienes presenta mayor gravedad. La vacunación, de acceso universal, está incluida en la vacuna DTP (difteria, tétanos y tos ferina), la cual se aplica en tres dosis y dos refuerzos, y es fundamental para la reducción de los casos. A pesar de ello, se observa una reemergencia de la enfermedad en el escenario actual. Por lo tanto, esta investigación tiene como objetivo señalar el perfil epidemiológico de los casos de tos ferina en el estado de Paraná, entre los años 2020 y 2024, a partir de los datos disponibles en la plataforma del Departamento de Informática del Sistema Único de Salud (DATASUS).
