CARACTERIZAÇÃO MORFOMÉTRICA DA BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO RIO SANTA JOANA (ES) COMO SUBSÍDIO À GESTÃO DE RECURSOS HÍDRICOSPÚBLICA

Este trabalho tem como objetivo realizar a caracterização morfométrica da bacia hidrográfica
do rio Santa Joana, localizada no Estado do Espírito Santo, abrangendo os municípios de
Itarana, Itaguaçu, Afonso Cláudio e Colatina. Trata-se de uma sub-bacia da bacia hidrográfica
do rio Doce, à qual está integrada por meio da drenagem de suas águas ao curso principal desse
sistema. Para a análise, foram utilizados dados hidrológicos e geográficos processados em
ambiente de Sistema de Informação Geográfica (SIG), além de planilhas hidrológicas, visando
ao cálculo de parâmetros geométricos, hidrográficos, topográficos e de uso e ocupação do solo.
A sub-bacia apresentou uma área total de 896,28 km², perímetro de 285,2 km e comprimento
do canal principal de 89,36 km. Os resultados da análise morfométrica indicaram uma baixa
densidade de drenagem (0,218 km/km²) e um coeficiente de compacidade de 2,753, sugerindo
uma tendência moderada à ocorrência de enchentes. O uso do solo na região é
predominantemente agrícola e florestal, com um coeficiente médio ponderado de runoff igual
a 0,58. A vazão máxima de escoamento superficial estimada foi de 4.054,26 m³/s.
