ASPECTOS DE IMAGEM DE UM PROCESSO ESTILÓIDE ALONGADO: RELATO DE CASO

O alongamento do processo estilóide é uma anomalia raramente encontrada, denominada Síndrome de Eagle, descoberta pela primeira vez em 1937, cuja sintomatologia mais comum é a dor cervical. Portanto, o diagnóstico é de extrema importância para que seja realizada a intervenção correta e, consequentemente, reconhecer os aspectos imagiológicos dessa condição é essencial. O objetivo deste estudo é relatar um caso de Síndrome de Eagle e contribuir com a análise adequada dos aspectos radiográficos, além de enfatizar a importância dos exames de imagem para fornecer o tratamento mais eficaz, bem como o diagnóstico diferencial. Descreveu-se o caso de um homem de 48 anos com sintomas agravados pela condição, incluindo dor orofacial e limitações nos movimentos da cabeça. Conclui-se que os exames de imagem como radiografia panorâmica, projeções póstero-anterior e lateral de crânio, e tomografia computadorizada foram eficazes na identificação do processo estilóide alongado.
