Approach to Chronic Pain in Primary Health Care

Objetivo: Comprender cuáles son los abordajes utilizados en el manejo del dolor crónico en la atención primaria. Métodos: Se trata de un estudio de revisión integradora sobre el abordaje del dolor crónico en la atención primaria en artículos publicados en los últimos 10 años. Resultados: El modelo biopsicosocial se destaca como orientador de una atención más humanizada e integral, exigiendo del profesional de salud una escucha cualificada, una planificación individualizada y una actuación conjunta con otros miembros del equipo. Conclusión: El análisis de los estudios incluidos en la revisión demostró que el dolor crónico musculoesquelético es altamente prevalente en la atención primaria y afecta directamente la funcionalidad y el bienestar de los pacientes.
