EL ESTADO NUTRICIONAL Y LA FUNCIONALIDAD EN PACIENTES CON SOBREPESO Y OBESIDAD SOMETIDAS A TRATAMIENTO DEL CÁNCER DE MAMA

Objetivo: Analizar el estado nutricional y la funcionalidad de pacientes sometidas a tratamiento de cáncer de mama durante el período de noviembre de 2022 a octubre de 2023. Métodos: Estudio de análisis de registros de indicadores de nutrición y fisioterapia, con delineamiento retrospectivo, realizado con pacientes de sexo femenino, con sobrepeso y obesidad, sometidas a tratamiento antineoplásico para cáncer de mama. Las herramientas utilizadas fueron PG-SGA, FRIED, ECOG y Karnofsky. Para el análisis de tendencia se empleó el programa BioEstat 5.0, utilizando la prueba de chi-cuadrado y la prueba exacta de Fisher. El estudio fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética en Investigación. Resultados: Se evaluaron 30 mujeres, con rango de edad entre 20 y 80 años, de las cuales el 63,3% realizó quimioterapia como tratamiento oncológico predominante; de estas, el 66,6% presentó sobrepeso como estado nutricional. Analizar la capacidad funcional y nutricional de pacientes con cáncer permite comprender aspectos como la expectativa y calidad de vida, además de los riesgos y beneficios de los tratamientos oncológicos. En este estudio se observaron puntuaciones adecuadas en todas las escalas mencionadas anteriormente, siendo posible identificar una asociación estadística entre el nivel de puntuación adecuada y las escalas de rendimiento en el paciente oncológico (p < 0,0001). Al analizar la escala PG-SGA, aproximadamente el 83,3% fueron clasificadas con estado nutricional A; el 23,3% de las mujeres obtuvo nivel 1 en la escala ECOG, lo que se reflejó en la escala KPS, en la cual el 73,3% presentó una puntuación igual al 90% y el 23,3% puntuaciones inferiores al 90%. Se observó que la mayoría presentaba alguna alteración funcional a lo largo del tratamiento, requiriendo algún tipo de asistencia funcional. Conclusión/Consideraciones finales: El estudio demostró que la mayoría de las pacientes poseían una capacidad funcional adecuada y un estado nutricional satisfactorio, aunque factores externos y antecedentes previos pueden influir en el estado funcional y nutricional de estas.
