El papel de la fisioterapia en la artrogriposis múltiple congénita: informe de un caso

La Artrogriposis Múltiple Congénita (AMC) es un síndrome poco común caracterizado por múltiples contracturas articulares congénitas que afectan la movilidad y la funcionalidad. Este caso clínico describe a un paciente de 10 años con AMC distal y pie zambo congénito bilateral, que se sometió a cirugía y fisioterapia desde los 3 años. Se realizaron 15 de las 38 sesiones programadas, centradas en estiramientos, movilización, entrenamiento de la marcha, equilibrio y fortalecimiento. Se observó una mejoría en el control postural, el equilibrio y la marcha, con adaptaciones realizadas para abordar la falta de adaptación inicial. Los resultados obtenidos en este caso clínico demuestran que la intervención fisioterapéutica individualizada, centrada en estiramientos, movilización, entrenamiento de la marcha, equilibrio y fortalecimiento con resistencia, promovió mejoras significativas en el control postural, el equilibrio y el patrón de marcha en el paciente con AMC distal y pie zambo congénito bilateral, lo que coincide con la evidencia de la literatura. La fisioterapia optimiza la calidad de vida en AMC, por lo que se recomiendan estudios longitudinales.
