LIBIDIBIA FERREA: UNA REVISIÓN INTEGRAL Y POSIBLES APLICACIONES DE DIFERENTES EXTRACTOS DE JUCÁ

Resumen

Los metabolitos secundarios obtenidos de plantas utilizadas en la medicina popular se han convertido en un campo de investigación de gran relevancia en la comunidad científica debido a su seguridad en comparación con las sustancias sintéticas que causan efectos secundarios. Entre las plantas utilizadas para este fin se encuentra Libidibia ferrea, una planta rica en metabolitos secundarios como los ácidos gálico y elágico, y con un alto contenido proteico. En este sentido, la presente revisión busca identificar lagunas en la información sobre las partes de la planta exploradas, las instituciones de investigación, el tipo de disolvente utilizado para la obtención de metabolitos y las aplicaciones del extracto en procesos de invención tecnológica. Para ello, se realizó una búsqueda sistemática para seleccionar únicamente manuscritos que involucraran la obtención de extracto polifenólico de Libidibia ferrea. Se observó que, entre los 44 manuscritos seleccionados, en 33 de ellos, los frutos fueron los más explorados para la obtención de extracto polifenólico. Se combinaron diferentes disolventes con diferentes partes de la planta para obtener el extracto. Los datos de las invenciones tecnológicas han demostrado que los extractos polifenólicos se han aplicado en diversos productos, incluyendo alimentos y productos para la salud. La extensa literatura compilada permite seleccionar qué partes de la planta tienen potencial de explotación, así como sus aplicaciones
