O surgimento do messianismo e sua influência na construção do judaísmo antigo

O artigo explora as origens e a evolução do messianismo no judaísmo antigo, destacando seu papel teológico, social e político. Derivado do hebraico mashiach ("ungido"). A análise segue uma abordagem histórico-teológica, fundamentada em textos bíblicos e estudos contemporâneos. Examinamos inicialmente o período pré-exílico, quando o messias foi visto como um rei ungido, mediador entre Deus e o povo. Após o exílio, profetas como Jeremias e Ezequiel redefiniram o conceito, vinculando-o a uma esperança futura e à renovação espiritual. Influências externas, como o zoroastrismo, enriqueceram as expectativas messiânicas. O artigo também destaca as variações no conceito: enquanto alguns viam o messias como um líder político, outros o concebiam como uma figura espiritual ou cósmica, refletindo as necessidades e ênfase de diferentes comunidades judaicas e de diferentes tempos históricos. Durante o domínio romano, essas expectativas culminaram em movimentos apocalípticos. Por fim, o estudo explora as conexões e rupturas entre o judaísmo e o cristianismo nascente. Jesus de Nazaré foi reinterpretado pelos cristãos como o messias universal, transformando a ideia messiânica em um divisor teológico. O artigo conclui que o messianismo com suas múltiplas nuances foi crucial para a evolução religiosa e cultural do judaísmo e sua interação com o cristianismo.
