INTERAÇÃO FÁRMACO-NUTRIENTE: ESTÃO OS NUTRICIONISTAS PREPARADOS?

Introdução: A interação fármaco-nutriente se refere à maneira a qual os nutrientes provenientes dos alimentos interagem com os medicamentos, e como interferem na resposta terapêutica através das possíveis alterações que causam no organismo. Objetivo: destacar e discutir os aspectos nutricionais das interações fármaco-nutriente e se os nutricionistas se encontram preparados para o manejo dessas situações. Metodologia: estudo de revisão narrativa com busca de informações nas bases eletrônicas de dados, PubMed/Medline, Lilacs e Scielo, empregando-se os termos, os descritores “interação alimento-droga”, “alimentos”, “absorção”, “estado nutricional”, “tratamento medicamentoso” e; “nutricionistas”, cujos estudos foram publicados entre 2000 e 2025. Resultados: a partir dos núcleos de discussão foi possível entender que as interações fármaco-nutriente se caracterizam por alterações nos mecanismos de farmacocinética e farmacodinâmica de um fármaco ou nutriente, sendo que os fármacos podem modificar o metabolismo de nutrientes e, essas interações, normalmente, impactam o estado nutricional. Entretanto, os poucos estudos sobre o tema mostram que acadêmicos de Nutrição e nutricionistas apresentam lacunas de conhecimento e incertezas frente às interações fármaco-nutriente. Considerações finais: a lacuna de conhecimentos e as incertezas por parte dos nutricionistas para manejar as interações fármaco-nutriente, podem estar relacionadas a uma falha, potencialmente, sistêmica que envolve formação, serviço, equipe multiprofissional e políticas institucionais.
